Linux Installation

1. Boot from the CD-ROM.

2. Select a language.

Select the language that you want to use.

Select Next.

3. Configure the keyboard.

Select the appropriate alternative.

Select Next.

4. Define the disk partitioning setup.

Select Automatically partition.

Select Next.

5. Manual partition using disk druid.

Select Remove all partitions on this system.

Uncheck Review (and modify if needed) the partitions created.

Select Next.

6. Check the boot loader settings.

Do not change the default values.

Select Next.

7. Configure the network.

a. Configure eth0:

i. Select Edit.

ii. Deselect Configure using dhcp.

iii. Select activate on boot.

iv. Set IP address

v. Select OK.

b. Configure eth1:

i. Select Edit.

ii. Select Configure using dhcp.

iii. Select activate on boot.

iv. Select OK.

Select Next.

8. Configure the firewall.

Select No firewall.

Select SELinux - Disabled.

Select Next.

9. Define additional language support.

If you need additional language support, select the appropriate

alternative.

Select Next.

10. Select the time zone.

Choose the correct time zone accorSelect Next.

11. Configure the root password.

Type the root user password.

Select Next.

12. Select packet group.

Select Customize the set of packets to be installed.

Select Next.

13. Select the option Everything which installs all the packages.

Select Next.

14. Wait for Linux to be installed.

Change installation CDs when prompted.

15. Reboot Linux.
